Berlin Street Style : A Guide to Urban Chic (9781419712579)

In Berlin Street Style, noted design expert Angelika Taschen explains the unique style of this hip city. Where Parisians may covet a Hermes bag, a Chanel little black dress or chic ballet flats, Berliners don military parkas, sneakers and jeans. The look is casual, edgy, accessible, eclectic and a little rock and roll. The book shows the popular "anti-chic" look seen throughout the city, offering advice on how to achieve the appealingly disheveled Berlin look with vintage pieces, stylish basics and carefully selected accessories. With street style photography and hand-drawn illustrations, this accessible style guide explores how Berlin women dress and where they find their fashion inspiration, highlighting trendsetting blogs and local labels. Taschen also recommends the top destinations for fashion, beauty, design and culture in the city. She has curated a list that includes the most popular places, as well as hidden and up-and-coming spots around the city.

The Popularity Papers (9781419712708)

Lydia and Julie have been through many adventures as they navigated junior high, popularity, families, and friendship. In the final adventure in the series, the peaceful world of Hamlin Junior High is rocked when Lydia and Julie learn that they're going to have to play host to new students whose school burned down. The outside threat bands the Hamlin kids together against a common enemy-for a while. When the enemy gets their hands on Lydia and Julie's notebook, no one wants anything to do with the girls. It's the biggest threat to their friendship (and a pretty definitive failure of their quest for popularity), and it can only be solved one way. Two words: dance battle.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (9781101965498)

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - The official novelization of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the blockbuster film directed by J. J. Abrams, featuring an 8-page color photo insert of thrilling images from the hit movie.

More than thirty years ago, Star Wars burst onto the big screen and became a cultural phenomenon. Now the next adventures in this blockbuster saga are poised to captivate old and new fans alike--beginning with the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And alongside the cinematic debut comes the thrilling novel adaptation by New York Times bestselling science fiction master Alan Dean Foster. Set years after Return of the Jedi, this stunning new action-packed adventure rockets us back into the world of Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2, and Luke Skywalker, while introducing a host of exciting new characters. Darth Vader may have been redeemed and the Emperor vanquished, but peace can be fleeting, and evil does not easily relent. Yet the simple belief in good can still empower ordinary individuals to rise and meet the greatest challenges. So return to that galaxy far, far away, and prepare yourself for what happens when the Force awakens. . . . Praise for Star Wars: The Force Awakens

"Like all the best novelizations, Alan Dean Foster's adaptation of Star Wars: The Force Awakens enriches the movie experience. The novel goes beyond simply giving us insight into the characters' thoughts, with plenty of additional scenes painting a broader picture of the galaxy."--New York Daily News

"Fast-moving, atmospheric and raises goose-bumps at just the right moments. [Foster] not only evokes entire onscreen worlds . . . he also gives us glimpses of an even more vast, unseen universe."--The Washington Post

"Was my experience of the film enriched by the book? Yes. No question. Is the novelization worth reading? Yes. . . . Foster has written a book that captures the spirit of the film, while presenting additional information that helps answer some of the questions that linger."--Coffee with Kenobi

Tory Burch : In Color (9781419707476)

Tory Burch sees the world in colour, inspired by people, places, and ideas-all of which influence her brand, synonymous with print and color. In her first book, she explores what living in colour means to her. The book is organised by colour, each one brought to life through images of her own collections and travels; how she entertains; style icons; the works of artists, authors, and interior designers she admires; and the advice of business leaders-many of whom are interviewed within. The book also offers a glimpse into the more personal moments in Tory's life, such as family trips with her boys or the indelible ways in which her parents, Buddy and Reva Robinson, influenced her collection, company, and philosophy.
The foreword is written by Anna Wintour, artistic director of Conde Nast and editor-in-chief of Vogue, and the cover features Damien Hirst's Beautiful Primal Urges Rug, (c) Damien Hirst and Science Ltd., all rights reserved / DACS, London / ARS, NY 2014. Mighty Odds (The Odds Series #1) (9781419712715)

What do you get when you mix a sci-fi nerd, a cartoonist, a social outcast, and the most popular girl in school with a mysterious bus crash? Some very specific superpowers: Martina can change her eye colour; Nick can teleport four inches to the left; Farshad can develop super strength, but only in his thumbs; and Cookie can read minds, when those minds are thinking about directions. They are, in short, the just okayish heroes. Starring a diverse group of kids with (very limited) superpowers, this series' multiple narrators make for a quirky, pitch-perfect read that tackles identity and stereotypes. Ignatow's characters have been praised widely, as "very real" by the New York Times and "completely convincing" by the New Yorker.
